Further Evidence that the PCC has no intention to consult residents!

The NLPG have been asking PCC for any information regarding their feasibility studies or possible problems with proceeding.

This group has emailed PCC employees many times asking for this information – and at every turn we have been told that AECOM – the company they are paying £1 million – have not finished their studies and there is no information to share. (Note they are paying about £100,000 a month to AECOM at a time when they are shutting Care Homes which they claim they cannot afford to run at about £100,000 a month!)

We asked if they had submitted any form of planning application including pre-planning (Screening) or otherwise.  Each time we were told that they would not do this before consulting local residents.

Imagine our surprise when one of our members discovered hidden away on the Peterborough City Centre Web Page a Screening (Pre planning application) for the Wind/Solar Farms and a Housing development.

These documents are available to download below so you can be aware of the extent these proposals with have on the environment. (Note this is not a full disclosure but just a small selection of the problems)  It is clear from this behaviour that AECOM and PCC wish to hide information from residents.  This raises the question “What else are they hiding?”

We will be looking and we continue to seek as much support to protect our homes, our communities and our countryside for future generations.

We need your help by 19th November!

We apologise that we have not held an NLPG update meeting for a few weeks.  This is due to our attendance at meetings with Council Members, at Scrutiny and Cabinet Committees and Parish Council meetings.

The NLPG plan to hold an update for you in the next two weeks, but in the meantime, we have an important task to address.

As stated in the previous post there is an important meeting on Monday 19th November at 5.30.pm at the Peterborough City Council Town Hall.  The Scrutiny Committee will be considering the report once again, thanks to the efforts of Cllr Harrington getting the report ‘called in’.  This basically means it must return to a panel for further discussion.

To assist the call in we would ask that you use this template to write in support of Cllr Harrington.  Please email the letter to paulina.ford@peterborough.gov.uk by mid-day Monday 19th November.

Dependent on the outcome of the Scrutiny Committee, the recommendations go to Cabinet on 20.11.2012 for decision.  We will find out shortly after whether it will be progress to the full Planning Application and if PCC will be commencing consultation?  As soon as we know, we will let you know.
Thank you for your continued support and patience

Sustainability Scrutiny Meeting Monday 19th November

Cllr David Harrington has managed to call another scrutiny committee to discuss the poor handling of the proposed Wind and Solar Farms by Peterborough City Council.

He is focusing upon the lack of consultation and the manner the City Council have driven on with this shocking proposal without addressing the concerns of local residents.

If you would like to support his objection then:

a) Write an email outlining the lack of consultation you have received and how you feel the plan will affect you.  Please email to paulina.ford@peterborough.gov.uk ASAP.  It is also essential that they copy David Harrington in  david.harrington@peterborough.gov.uk so he is aware of any objections.

b) Attend the Scrutiny meeting on 19th November 5.30pm at the Council Chamber to show your support.

Apologies for the short notice but the council have only just released details.
